DOB: Apr. 25, 2003
Rasto was brought to the Encouragement Children's Home in 2008.
Rasto's mother passed away and the children were left with the father. After a short period the father became mentally ill/challenged. He was sexually abusive and violent to Rasto and his siblings. The children were malnurished and begged on the streets for food. Rasto began life being traumatized. An uncle on seeing the state of the children he took them in for a short time. The uncle has nine children and adding Rasto and the siblings would total 14 children to take care for. It soon became a challenge to him and he could not raise enough funds to support and feed the entire household. It was at this point that he brought them to Encouragement Children’s Home. Rasto was only five years old.
