Encouragement Children's Home - Webuye, Kenya
We are a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization operating since 1990 - Donations are Tax-Deductible
The Kenya ministry began during Vic Rader's visit to Kenya in 2004. As we became aware of the dire needs of the orphans who were abandoned and abused, a plan evolved to rescue the young under-age-five orphans. Financial assistance was offered to those who were attempting to care for these precious children. In May 2005 the Encouragement Inc. organization purchased the above 3.5 acres with a 23 bedroom hotel and began to renovate, staff and equip the facilities to take in orphans. Today there are 51 orphans and a staff of twelve.
OUR DOCTRINAL STATEMENT:
Adopted/Edited from: Statement of Faith of the National Association of Evangelicals, USA
The Bible: We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
The Trinity: We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ: We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
Salvation: We believe that Jesus is the only way to heaven. Lost and sinful people require regeneration by the Holy Spirit to become true Christ followers.
The Holy Spirit: We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a new & godly life.
Eternity: We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
The Body of Christ: We believe in the Spiritual Unity of Believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. ADDED: We believe that Pentecostals, Calvinists & Arminians and any others who are genuinely "Born Again" are a part of the Body of Christ. Our Organizational USA Board holds to a "Freewill Arminian Theology" which teaches that Jesus himself said, in John 3:16 that "Whosoever" means "All" can become a Christ follower by Grace through Faith if they so choose. (Eph. 2:8-10)
Our Kenya Board of Directors is made up of Leaders from Pentecostal, Calvinist, and Arminian Churches.
